"I didn’t invent the idea of infants sculpting a masterpiece. I've seen a few examples of the theme of babies creating art & it appealed to me. Probably many times throughout art history this has been visualized. That & the many sculptures of “the vestal virgin” showing the female form covered in wet cloth clinging to the skin. It absolutely amazes me how marble can be sculpted to look like sensuous reality. I thought “That would be challenging to paint”. The 2 ideas merged & the result is a metaphor for innocence creating beauty, with the creative process represented with the lower level of building form & the higher level of divine inspiration. The entire background is neurological networking, because our entire sense perception is created out of nerve interfacing as it is interpreted by our consciousness." Erik
